{"id":620,"date":"2020-11-25T02:57:31","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T02:57:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dft.wiki\/?p=620"},"modified":"2026-06-09T13:25:49","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T17:25:49","slug":"high-availability-sync-in-pfsense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dft.wiki\/?p=620","title":{"rendered":"High Availability Sync in pfSense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>High Availability Sync is the feature that pfSense uses to synchronize configuration from a Master to a Slave, transferring the configuration over a chosen interface.<\/p>\n<p>On the Master, go to System > High Availability Sync.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check the box &#8220;Synchronize States&#8221;,<\/li>\n<li>Choose the interface through which the configuration will be transferred,<\/li>\n<li>Enter the IP of the Slave in &#8220;Synchronize Config to IP&#8221;,<\/li>\n<li>Type the username and password of the administrator or any other user with sufficient privileges,<\/li>\n<li>Check the box &#8220;Toggle All&#8221; to enable full synchronization,<\/li>\n<li>Then click &#8220;Save&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At this point, create a user and verify that it gets copied to the Slave.
